Self-care

Merriam-Webster dictionary defines self-care as care for oneself

This definition sounds so simple yet many of us struggle with it due to various reasons. Work, children, school, and daily life tasks often times get in the way of our self-care.

Self-care is vital for our physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It’s important and okay to take a break from life tasks to do things that make us happy and doesn’t require our full energy. If self-care to you means sleeping in past 10 am, getting your nails done, or getting together with friends for a dinner date then by all means do it.

Practicing self-care allows us to focus on things, whether big or small, that make us feel good about ourselves and it also empowers us to acknowledge that we are worth it and deserving of taking care of our physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
